February is dental health month. Get your furry friend a fresh start with a clean smile and fresh breath. You can easily check their oral health at home by lifting their lip and taking a good look at all their teeth including the ones all the way in the back.

If your pet is exibiting signs of periodontal disease your pet should have a dental cleaning. Periodontal disease does not just affect the surface of the teeth and the surrounding gum tissue. It can also affect the heart, liver, kidneys and other major organs. Pets can start receiving preventative dental care as puppies or kittens with regular brushing of their teeth to combat tartar build up.
